Tent stitch worked in level rows from right to left, each small slant followed by a long slant on the back. Work it in 8 passes: bring the needle up at each odd number and down at the even number after it.

Odd numbers: the needle comes up. Even numbers: it goes down.

What it is used forЗастосування
Lines, outlines and small areas of canvaswork, where basketweave would be awkward. It pads the back well, but it pulls the canvas out of true over a large area.

- Working right to left, come up at the lower left of the mesh and go down at the upper right, across one intersection.Рухаючись справа наліво, виведіть голку внизу зліва від клітинки й уведіть угорі справа, через один перетин.
- Come up one thread left of your first hole. Make the next slant, and go on along the row. - To come back along the next row without turning the canvas, the order flips: come up at the upper right and go down at the lower left. Tips and common mistakesПоради й типові помилки
- Filling a big area with it: all the slants pull one way, and the piece comes off the frame as a lozenge. For large areas use basketweave.Заповнення великої площі: усі скоси тягнуть в один бік, і робота знімається з рами ромбом. Для великих площ беріть «кошик».
