How to do a four-legged knot stitchЯк вишивати чотириногий вузлик
A small upright cross with a knot tied at its centre, as if four little legs came out of a bead. Work it in 4 passes: bring the needle up at each odd number and down at the even number after it.

Step by stepКрок за кроком
- Begin with one short upright stitch, top to bottom: the first arm of the cross.Виведіть голку й уведіть трохи нижче: прямий стібок, перша перекладина хрестика.
- Come up to the right of its middle and lay the thread level across it. Leave a small loop on the left, swing the working thread up to the top right, then pass the needle beneath both threads at the crossing, keeping it on top of the working thread and clear of the cloth. Pull: the knot closes on the crossing. Then go down to the left to finish the fourth leg.Виведіть голку праворуч від середини й покладіть нитку горизонтально через стібок. Tips and common mistakesПоради й типові помилки
- Knotting over the first stitch only. The needle must pass under both threads where they cross, or the second arm slides away.Вузлик лише на першому стібку. Голка має пройти під обома нитками на перехресті, інакше друга перекладина зсунеться.
