Many stitches piled in the same two holes, bulging apart in the middle, into a small plump oval. Work it in 5 passes: bring the needle up at each odd number and down at the even number after it.

Step by stepКрок за кроком
- Make one straight stitch a few millimetres long.Виведіть голку й уведіть за кілька міліметрів. Протягніть нитку.
- Come up in the first hole and go down in the second. Lay this stitch to one side of the first with a laying tool or a tapestry needle, not splitting it. Repeat on the other side. Always the same two holes.Виведіть голку в першій дірочці й уведіть у другій. Лопаткою чи гобеленовою голкою покладіть цей стібок збоку від першого, не розщеплюючи його. Те саме з другого боку. Завжди ті самі дві дірочки.
- Keep adding stitches until the oval is big enough. The later ones tend to settle on top, along the middle.Працюйте далі, поки не вийде потрібний розмір. Після перших кількох стібків нові лягають посередині, зверху.
Tips and common mistakesПоради й типові помилки
- Going down near the hole instead of in it: the ends spread and the oval becomes a block.Голка входить поруч із дірочкою, а не в неї: кінці розходяться, і овал стає бруском.
- Splitting the earlier stitches. They should roll aside, not be pierced.Голка розщеплює попередні стібки. Вони мають відкочуватися вбік, а не проколюватися.
