How to do a knitting stitchЯк вишивати в'язальний шов
Slanted stitches over two cells, worked in vertical columns whose slant alternates. The stitches meet in pairs at their tips and the surface reads exactly like the knit face of stocking stitch. Work it in 2 passes: bring the needle up at each odd number and down at the even number after it.

Step by stepКрок за кроком
- The left stitch: up over four threads and one across to the left. The next one in this column does not start above it but two threads above its own start — the stitches encroach.Лівий стібок: угору через чотири нитки й на одну ліворуч. Наступний у цьому ж стовпчику почнеться не над ним, а на дві нитки вище його початку — стібки заходять один на одного.
- The neighbouring column is the mirror image, two holes to the right, and is worked in the opposite direction. Both stitches rise out of the one hole at the foot, and that little V is what repeats across the field.Сусідній стовпчик — дзеркальний, за дві дірочки праворуч, і шиється у зворотному напрямку. Обидва стібки виходять з однієї дірочки внизу, і саме ця «пташка» повторюється по всьому полю.
Done. Column after column, every other one reversed, and the field starts to look like the knit face of stocking stitch.
