How to do single feather stitchЯк вишивати однобічну пір’їнку
Feather stitch with all its branches on one side of the line, all of one length and one slant: in effect a blanket stitch set at an angle. Work it in 5 passes: bring the needle up at each odd number and down at the even number after it.
Пір’їнка, усі гілочки якої лежать з одного боку лінії, однакової довжини й нахилу: по суті петельний шов, поставлений під кутом. Усього 5 стібків: виводьте голку на лицевий бік у непарному номері й уводьте в наступному парному.

- Come up on the line at the top and go down to its right, a little lower. Bring the point out on the line further down, with the slack under it, and draw it up: the spine runs along the line and one slanted branch rises to the right.Виведіть голку на лінії вгорі й уведіть праворуч від неї, трохи нижче. Вістря виведіть на лінії нижче, вільна нитка під ним, і підтягніть: хребет іде лінією, а одна скісна гілочка підіймається вправо.
- Repeat from there, on the same side, with the same drop and the same slant.Повторіть звідти, з того самого боку, з тим самим кроком і нахилом.

Tips and common mistakesПоради й типові помилки
- Going down level with the place the point will come out: the branches stand square and it turns into blanket stitch.Голка входить на рівні того місця, де вийде вістря: гілочки стають прямо, і виходить петельний шов.
